Voix Phone Windows - Voix Phone Is a multiplatform IAX soft phone, its engine derives from Voix Manager, the powerful Asterisk call manager interface, from wich it inherits stability and robustness.

Voix Phone has been thought with simplicity in mind, all feature needed by the user, fast and easy usable, with the minimum configurations, just fill the phone login information and play.

We hope that this our contribution could be useful to who requires of a simple but advanced soft phone, Voix Phone is distributed freeware for non commercial use.

Why IAX ?

IAX is one of the least VoIP signaling standard that eliminates the problems imposed upon the competing SIP standard by NAT firewalls. IAX is supported primarily by Asterisk.

Could not connect

I was looking for a simple softphone software to make VOIP calls from the computer. I liked the way Voix looked: simple, clean, and elegant. Unfortunately, I could not connect with my VoIP account. I use PennyTel (www.pennytel.com) for my VoIP calls. They recommend X-lite softphone (from CounterPath). I did not like the way it looked + I did not need all the extra features it had. However, I ended up installing X-lite anyway since I could not get a connection with Voix.

I tried to google for a solution and also checked voix FAQ's and forum pages. Still, did not find a solution.

Connected with X-lite instantly - no problems at all.

If you can e-mail me the proper settings to use Voix with my PennyTel account I will be happy to switch to Voix softphone.

I have a WinXP notebook that is connected to Linksys WRT54GL router and DSL i-net.

I did not have to setup any Port Forwarding in my router to use X-lite. Just put in my pennytel account information - that was it.
